In Which I Wrap up a Month

What a journey. I skipped a couple of days, made some private, but managed, day by day, to think about things. I think really what I've done is lay some groundwork for more thinking. I'll have to schedule myself to think about follow-ups.

I enjoyed writing every night. I wish there was a way to find time to do this that doesn't take away from family time.

The one thing that stands out to me, because it's so recent, is the Manifesto post. This also turned out to be effective. Even though I'm a writer and should come up with something original, the source post used a quote, and so did I. I used a line from one of my favorite hymns:

No storm can shake my inmost calm while to that rock I'm clinging.
While Love is lord of heaven and earth, how can I keep from singing?

Fortunately, I know two different tunes for this text, and the bass lines, so I have some variation in how it repeats. It repeats mostly in song. I have caught myself starting to fly off the handle and remembering this text stops that process. When things got to hell-stress at work, the song carried me through. Before, when an emergency made me think I had to rush everything (and end up skipping vital steps), the song slowed me down enough to get things right the first time.

I haven't taken the time to re-read everything from this month. Hopefully I can devote some time to that this weekend, and set up a plan.

Thanks for coming along on the ride.

You gave me more than a few moments of self-reflection within my own life, based upon you openness and candor. I admire your strength and power, in being able to share your person, and psyche, with others.
